Hi we're in the process of negotiation of contract with SWISS Topo. I hope then in next two months will be these maps available.

Any news or expectations? I am heading back to Switzerland in a month and this would help me to navigate on Haute Route:)

Hi,

we've signed contract two weeks ago. We're waiting on some technical details that SWISS topo should provide to us. We've planned to release SWISS topo in March but it'll be probably in April. Thank you for understadning.

Hi. SWISS Topo changed it "Map-Use Modell" from buying the maps to a "leasing-model" on basis of a yearly fee for using their maps. They don't sell maps (as Locus it does) no longer. Swiss Topo can now be used for a time-perjod of 1 year for less than 40 Euro. After that time the map can't be longer used offline, or only longer used offline but without updating the maps. It's also possible to download parts of a map with an area of ca. 10 x 10 km free of charge. Examples of Apps still using this modell are: SchweizMobil, Swiss Map Mobile (Swiss Topo own app) and http://www.gps-tracks.com/Shop.aspx . Is it possible for the Locus-Team to re-negotiate the licence-condition with SWISS Topo. The actual used modell with Locus is extremly expensive, and i think, nobody buys maps for this price. Thank you BTW: Locus is the best app in this sector!! And the use of the Swiss Topo map for reasonable conditions would be the cherry on the cake.

Hi,

thank you for info. Honestly I didn't know about changes in SWISS topo usage model. We'll have look on it. On the other side 40 Euro for year usage is still quite expensive....But thank you for info.

Regards

Petr
