Locus Action XML
Answered
I am trying to create an XML file that downloads and saves a file to a specific location in Locus. I would prefer to start the Locus action using a QR code or a link.
I have tried to create the file based on the template in the instructions at https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:advanced:customization:actions but how do I start the file? I would also need support on what the storage path should look like. Perhaps someone would like to share a working example. My XML file looks like the attached file.

Hi Peter,
I improved the dest element in your XML file. First, you need to upload the file somewhere on the web and obtain a direct link to it. Afterwards, create the required QR code (for example here: https://me-qr.com/) using the following URL:
locus-actions://https/<direct-link-to-your-xml-file>
Then scan the QR code with any QR scanner application. If everything is set up correctly, Locus Map should be able to process the Locus action. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us.

Hi. Thankyou. Sorry so say that I still dont get it to work. Would you mind help me one more time. My direct link looks like this "https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/tmfjfeywz96z6dfmazyso/Start.xml?rlkey=hwl5n4rwbwpq1aqvrtr1itaio&st=ce0n3712&dl=1" and the download works.
Does that mean that the link should be: locus-actions://https/<http://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/tmfjfeywz96z6dfmazyso/Start.xml?rlkey=hwl5n4rwbwpq1aqvrtr1itaio&st=ce0n3712&dl=1>
I have tried diffent setups but nothing happands when I click the url in my phone.

Hi Peter,
I have attached QR code which should be definitely starting the task. Please, let us know if everything works for you as expected.

Thankyou it worked. I would like to learn how to create these. Can you show me the url you did use? Shouldn't I be able to use dropbox with a direct link for this service?

Thanks. Now I get it. I need the qr code for Locus to open the file. It does not work when I use the url in the browser.
