I like this idea
During a planning phase, I usually only recalculate once or twice. But I switch profiles to bypass locks quite often. I also test from time to time whether it works with a different profile works. Das kann sehr oft sein. That's why this should be standard and not recalculated.

It has always been the case that recalculation required an extra action.
I don't want this to happen automatically.
I just want to switch profiles, not recalculate.
For now, I will only use the beta version where possible.

This seems like great opportunity to address all the issues already mentioned in https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/38341-route-planner-usability#comment-154248
TL;DR: Yes, the current UX is not perfect, and the change to recalculate whole route upon profile switch should be a secondary action (ie. under the ⁝), while existing behaviour to only change the current profile for the NEXT segment should be the default. I understand different users can have different workflows and expectations, that's why this should be atogglable option (like with the "quick settings" toggle) so everyone can select which behaviour is primary for their purposed.
I know the issue comes from the fact that profile switcher is a menu - so one tap to confirm, but just allow the users to pick which behavior is directly on the menu item and which is under ⁝ and everyone should be happy (i hope!)

I have to follow up on this again, as there has still been no improvement. I still find it impractical and contrary to common sense that changing your profile during route planning recalculates the entire route. It's not a normal use case for me to plan a route and then decide halfway through that I'd rather cycle than hike. I just want to create certain segments in a different profile.
And even if you disagree, it is illogical and inconsistent that when the parameters are changed during route planning (e.g. with/without navigation instructions), this is then only applied to the following segments.
Please make it possible again to set the desired behaviour for recalculation as the default. That must be possible!
