Maps not appearing after migration from LM Classic to LM4

Hello, I have just migrated my from LM Classic to LM4. In LM 3, I've always used the default directories - I've never changed anything.

Migration procedure appears to run normally as described in https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:faq:pro_to_lm4.
A zip file (ending in _conversion.zip) is created (I can see this in my LM3 directory (/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/backup).

I'm a Gold subscriber.

The Problem: None of my existing maps on LM3 appear in LM4. I imagine I can import these individually from the directories on LM3, but this is not the idea.
Any help much appreciated!
Colm

Hi Colm,

could you please try to launch the migration again? The data file created during the process is named "migration.zip":

Hi Michal, Thanks for your reply to my question!
I've done the migration again, and each time a file migration.zip is created (I can see these in the relevant directory of my LM3 app). But it doesn't make any difference - I don't get any error messages during the migration process. When I look in my Map Manager in LM4, I'd expect to see the maps I downloaded in LM3 but they ain't there......

That's really weird and unexpected. However, what maps do you use? Almost all maps can be re-downloaded from Locus Store, including some maps from third parties like Ordnance Survey UK. Log in with the same account you used in LM Classic and re-download the maps. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Michal, I almost always use LoMaps of various countries (e.g. Ireland, Spain). And I see that I can update these for free from the Locus Store. I wonder why it says 'Update' (instead of Install), does Locus Map 'know' that I already had these installed? Anyway, as you said, I can redownload the maps again.

Luckily I have copies of all the gpx files I had created/downloaded stored on a personal server, so I can re-import these.

One last question: In LM Classic Pro I can't see that I am logged on as Colm O'Flynn (I see just an ID number). However, I can see this on LM4. Would that explain why my maps didn't get transferred?

Thanks for your help! Colm

Hi Colm,

yes, when you log in, the app and server detect that you have installed the maps in the past.

You can see your Locus account name in LM Classic, too - in the Locus Store user profile. That doesn't explain why your maps didn't migrate. We're monitoring this issue, but so far, nobody else has reported the same problem.
