Restore points&tracks, but missing predefined filters

Hi,

I did today a restore of the whole database of a complete backup except the "points&tracks". The points and tracks I wanted to get via sync.

Now I miss all my predefined filters which I have setup within the filter manager. Is this a part of the "points&tracks" restore or are these just not backed up?

Hi Wolfgang,

yes, the filter settings are part of the database backup but they are not transferred via cloud synchronization.

Hi Michal,

my question was not cloud sync relevant. I only used the cloud sync to get the current status of my database.

I did a full restore of an offline backup but I did not restore the "points & tracks". Now I miss the filters (filter manager). How may I restore these?

I am afraid that the filters are part of the offline backup section "points & tracks". This would be not so good because then it would be "points & tracks & filters" which makes a dedicated restore more problematic.

Yes, the filters are part of the database but they are not synced. They are only transferred to another device via the backup.

Hi Michal,

unfortunately you misunderstood me again. I'll try it now with pictures.

I did a restore like this - please look at both screenshots. Then I missed all filters (in filter manager).

How can I restore all locus map settings without just points and tracks?

I understand you perfectly. It is as you say - the filters are part of the database. I verified it with the devs. At the moment, there is no option to back up the filters separately. They are only transferred to another device via the backup of the database. EDIT: As I've been informed by the devs about the option to separate the filters, it is not technically viable.

Hi Michal,

Ok I understand "point & racks" = "database". We spoke about the same but used different words. Thanks for clarifying.

Ok then I know how I can fix it. Delete the installation, doing a full restore in flight mode. Delete all points and tracks. Leaving flight mode and then sync via cloud. This should solve all.

I had hope this could be different in the future but I understand it's unfortunately technically not possible.

Thanks for your support.

Wolfgang

Wolfgang, please DO NOT DELETE your points and track without prior backup! The deletion will synchronize with the cloud and you can lose all your data. If you need to transfer your filters to another device, create a backup of your database (i.e. points and tracks) and restore it in the other device.
