Varia 820

have you tried the device with Locus Map yet? If yes, what is the result?

I connected the Varia 820 to Locus Map and was unpleasantly surprised. It seems to work, but the audio has started glitching badly. During any activity, it starts beeping and making noise, but the sound keeps blaring even when there is no longer any danger—it just keeps beeping continuously for 3–5 minutes. What could be causing this? If I disable the alerts for low-level threats, the persistent noise stops, but then there is no audible warning when a threat actually approaches.

- long-press the main menu button and select "Upload to support"

Hi. I went for a test ride today. I rode for about 2-3 km and couldn't take it anymore because it beeps so constantly and is incredibly annoying. If you turn off the 'medium' danger sound, the audio stops, but then, of course, there is no longer any sound alert for vehicles approaching from behind, only the visual indicator.

If you need more data, I’d be happy to go for a longer ride to collect it all.

Of course, it would be great if you could add all the Varia features, like light control and other smart settings. Also, the Varia can now detect whether a vehicle is approaching from the left or the right. But that's just if it's possible.

Hello. I completed a 30+ km track and sent a report with the message "Garmin Varia 820" included.

thanks for the recording — it was exactly what we needed. We found the cause: the RearVue 820 sends a type of internal diagnostic signal that our app was mistakenly reading as a nearby vehicle, and because it repeated quickly, it caused the constant beeping you described. We've fixed the issue and it will be included in the next beta update. Thanks a lot for your patience and for helping us track this down!
