Locus 4.33.0 Navigation zoom issue
Answered
I just got 4.33.0 from the Play store and was excited to see it has Android Auto support. Went to the car to try it out. I was not able to get the navigation display to zoom in/out with my speed. I turned the Zoom feature on and set the following settings:
5mph - 300 ft
25 mph - 0.5 mile
40mph - 1 mile
But the map zoom level stayed zoomed in no matter how fast I drove. Did I miss another setting somewhere?

Hi John,
the AA screen mirrors Locus Map running on your phone. So, does the auto-zoom run on your phone when you start navigation? If not, you may have perhaps linked navigation to a preset that does not contain auto-zoom. Please check both e the preset link in settings > navigation > link to presets or the linked preset.

Ah, you are right; the preset was not set for auto zoom. I will try again today.
Do you have a recommendation for what works well for the zoom steps?

The more steps you define, the more accurate the zooming is but overall, this works in most cases:
- define the speed span, e.g. 0 - 130 km/h
- divide it evenly into 4-5 levels
- insert the levels into the Locus Map auto-zoom setting, associate the map zoom levels as you need
- optionally, check the "extra zoom in on navigation commands"

Awesome - I did a trial run this morning and the navigation worked very well. I'm so glad to have Locus working 'officially' on Android Auto now.
Thanks for your guidance on the settings!
