Can't edit an existing route

Solved

Why can't I edit an existing route I created after updating? The button in the library opens the map with the option to plan a new route, instead of editing an existing one.

Known problem for routes made after January 2026. See also https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/40040-update-4-33-0-bug-edit-tracks and https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/40030-locus-4-33-0

A workaround is to open the route in the web planner, open for editing and then save a copy. The copy can then be edited in the app again.

A video, including the workaround can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17XafHQZFnU3mL64cuPHXXNRYn8g-mSqK/view?usp=drivesdk

Thank you for your reply. I found a temporary solution: to edit an existing route, I have to export it to GPX, import it, and only then can the route be edited. Honestly, I'd rather not use the planner and have a fully functional app. :( Besides, to edit routes in the planner I need the Premium Gold version, and I don't feel like it at all...

Ah, I didn't realize it's gold feature, but good to know there is another workaround.

The problem is fixed in the latest beta, fortunately.

Hello, Thank you very much for the tip. To try your suggested solution, I opened the web planner and tried to access my routes from the library. Unfortunately, I can't activate the library to make the routes editable and save them as a copy, as you suggested. I don't have access to the routes I created on my Samsung tablet and synced to the cloud! Just so you understand: We're talking about 96 Locus routes for a 10,000 km trip!!! Kind regards, Hans

Did you login to the planner?

Anyway, alternatively, you could install the latest beta from here: https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=9553.0

The problem seems to be fixed there. It will probably take some time for this to be released though.

I understand the problem, I also had to do this for 10k km of trips :)

Hi Konrad,

please install the latest beta version of Locus Map from https://bit.ly/lmVersionsTest and try it again. The problem has been fixed.
