Allow faster movement between track points

Currently when editing a track the left and right arrows (shown below) allow movement between track points, one point per quick tap. Or a long tap will move to the first or last point. This can be tedious when there are 100's or 1000's of points. My idea is that as you zoom further out, each quick tap should skip more and more points. This would allow faster movement between existing navigation points, and/or to road junctions for converting points to new navigation points.

first tap on any point near the "right point" and move with left or right arrow

thanks, yes, that is what I currently do, but using the arrows is very slow when zoomed out; was just an idea

Sorry Andrew, but I do not agree with this idea. You always know how much is "100" or "1000" points? Is't it too much, too low? Every track is different ...

Suggest to zoom out, move map, zoom in, tap on point. I believe it will be a lot faster then moving by 1000 points and then making process above because it was "too much".

What you think?

That is what I have been doing already, but it is sometimes "hit and miss" - I sometimes find if I don't tap exactly on the track, the edit mode is closed, and I have to start again.

You also have to zoom in/ out quite a lot; it would be nice when zoomed in to be able to move to the next navi point quickly with single tap rather than having to zoom out then back in.

Maybe it would be more useful that the long arrow tap moves to next navi point rather than the first/ last point? By your own logic the user could go to first/ last point by zoom out/ move map.

Hi gynta & Menion - try creating an outward/return track along the same road, and then select a track point on the outward section of the track by tapping the track. Doesn't work for me - all I can select are points for the overlapping return section of the track. My only workaround is to long tap to start of track, then tap forward 100's of times to get to required point where I want to convert to a navpoint, or select the "half way point" then tap reverse 100's of times.

My workaround is to now split outward/return track into two tracks for separate editing.

Andrew understand ... just a complicated editing on mobile device in Locus.

Happy voting ...
