Dashboard - custom icons

Some time ago, I created several custom dashboards where I could load my own custom icons for the individual displays.
Now I wanted to modify one of these dashboards and load a custom icon again for a new display (PNG/JPG format, 512x512 px) – but I briefly get an error message saying "Operation unsuccessful."
Have the parameters changed over the years?
Could you please reiterate the parameters and requirements for loading custom icons?
(Even though I'm still using version 3.70.18 and, at my age (73), won't be upgrading to version 4.)

I immediately double-checked and can now give the all-clear!
Here's what happened:
When loading the icons, the source is requested, and I selected "Google Photos" and chose the image from the "Icons" album.
I hadn't realized that this album was only in the cloud and that LocusMap expected images to be stored locally...
After downloading the images (which I was actually going to send you), I tested it again – result:
Loading from local storage works in LocusMap!
Problem solved! It was my mistake, sorry.
But it was only through your follow-up question that I became aware of my error! So, thank you very much!
