gradient color
Hello,
I’m contacting you about a feature that used to be available in Locus Map and that I can no longer find.
In Settings → Routes → Route line style (I’m using the app in Spanish, so the exact English names may be slightly different), there used to be an option to set the minimum and maximum slope values used for the route line color scale.
For example, I could set the scale from -45% to +45%. Locus Map would then automatically distribute the colors across that range according to the slope of the route.
This is different from manually assigning a specific color to each slope range. What I need is simply the ability to define the minimum and maximum values of the slope scale, and then have Locus Map automatically calculate the colors between those two values.
This option is no longer editable for me. There seems to be a predefined minimum/maximum value, but I cannot change it.
This is a significant problem for me because I regularly plan routes with very steep gradients. With the current fixed scale, many sections of my routes are shown in red even when the gradient is not particularly extreme for the type of routes I do. As a result, the color scale loses much of its usefulness, because almost everything appears to be in the highest slope range.
Being able to set, for example, -45% to +45% would make the color scale much more useful for my particular routes and would allow me to clearly distinguish the really steep sections.
I’m attaching screenshots showing exactly the section of the settings I’m referring to.
Could you please tell me whether this functionality has been removed, moved to another location, or whether there is currently another way to configure the minimum and maximum slope values?
If it has been removed, I would really appreciate it if you could consider bringing this functionality back.
Thank you!

Hi Joan,
sorry for the inconvenience but the option for custom definition of the slope gradient has been removed from the app deliberately in version 4.35 in favour of an absolute scale that matches the chart and map. Adjustable ranges are requested and not ruled out, so you can vote for re-adding them at https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/37368-feature-suggestion-improve-slope-profile-visualization.

Cannot understand why you removed it! It was an amazing feature that allows you to see which are the hardest moments of the route... Now the colors for me are completely useless, since I usually hike with slopes between 20/60% gradient
