Tap and hold to display all OSM data for the place, not just address

settings > Controlling > Map screen > Tap and hold to display address

existing behavior- for example

My suggestion is to display ALL the OSM metadata around that address/ point. This is now implemented in BRouter-web, example below. This would allow, for example, surface, smoothness, highway metadata to be instantly displayed instead of having to create a "dummy-test" route.

That would be great, of course. Right now, I use Favorites to do an OSM object query.

I often use this to retrieve data that Locus doesn't display. For example, whether a parking spot is free for only 2 hours.

The data could be displayed in the window that pops up.

An additional field called “OSM Object Query.” When I click on it, the data is retrieved and displayed.

Not possible offline, but that sounds pretty amazing. Would you mind providing a little more info on how I would setup this SM object query please?

To add it to your favorites, simply enter this link. Then select the location using the center of the screen and click on your OSM favorite in the Favorites section.

I never heard this term - Locus Map "favorites"? I checked Settings > Search > "favor...". I looked - map > long tap > point > what then? There must be something I need to configure for the http query template? I dived into ChatGPT but clearly asked the wrong questions. Thanks again.

You'll find it in the menu; there you can add the link. Place the cursor at the desired position, then select and activate this function.

Still confused sorry - I long tap a point > which menu? I've created a video of what I'm seeing, I tap each of the bottom-of-screen buttons, maybe your experience is different.

You're misunderstanding something. Long-pressing the point was only for the suggestion. The favorites function works differently.

First, create a favorite. Then, please swipe the screen to the dot and now access Favorites in the menu. Select OSM.

In German it's "Favorites", in English "Quick bookmark"

OK thanks both of you. I wasn't aware of this function. My confusion because both "Favorites" & "Quick bookmark" are both English words (long tap not needed and nothing to do with "Quick Points" either). For anyone else reading - menu > All features > Tools > Quick bookmark > "+" (create new bookmark) > predefined OSM or custom. I added a new bookmark "template" - https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit#map={mapZoom}/{mapLat}/{mapLon} - so I can see the actual surface metadata.

The link for the retrieval could be placed here.

“OSM Metadata Retrieval”
