is Audio Coach supposed to use TTS values from en_latest.tts

I wanted to shorten announcements of "current time" & "heart rate"

/tts/en_latest.tts has (default)

"value_heart_rate_current": "current heart rate %N1 BPM",
"value_time_current": "current time %T1",

I modified to

"value_heart_rate_current": "%N1 BPM",
"value_time_current": "%T1",
I removed the text & reboot the phone but still those words are spoken. Am I missing something and/or can the spoken words from the Audio Coach be customized?

Hi Andrew,

The file en_latest.tts is just a copy of the default asset that Locus Map reads. The system creates a copy every time the audio coach starts. If you need a custom TTS file, name it en.tts and place it in the /tts/ folder. Locus Map will prioritize it.

Thanks - great. Maybe the single template file tts/en_latest.tts should be named tts/default.tts & if it is the only file in that folder then it is used as the default instead of being ignored?
