Representing paved or upaved

I think a significant improvement would be to represent paved roads as solid lines and unpaved as dashed lines along a route. Slope and other attributes could still be represented by color. I know this information is now in the side bar, but I think this represtation would be much more useful in planning and knowing what to expect along the route.

Jerry - research alternative map "themes". The display of mapped roads depends on theme author, not just Locus themes. There is total flexibility in their representation.

I think Jerry would like to see this change under the elevation chart on the website, not on the map.

I would like to see the solid or dashed lines, denoting paved or unpaved, on the map. Currently in line style you can use plain color, speed slope etc. I would like to see a drop down under line, or a new section that allowed the line to display as solid or dashed depending on if the road is paved or unpaved. Currently Ride with GPS does this. I've attached an example.

The full or dashed lines are displayed on the LoMap with the hike/bike theme. If you want to see them under your own route, set the patterned style:

The colors in the way type chart give use more options to display the way type, not just paved/unpaved but also roads of various grades, paths, etc.

The full range of map lines is in the map legend.

Yes, and once you create a route it hides the underlying road so you can not see if it is paved or unpaved.

If you want to see the paved/unpaved state under your own route, set the patterned style:

OK Thanks, that helps. I'm experimenting with that. So far I have not made it as clear as the Ride with GPS example, but I will keep experimenting with the options for line and pattern.

Thanks again. Using the Pattern only (no line fill) and Arrows 3 pattern I have a combination that does what I want. Thanks again!
