Change date of gpx file

Answered

Hi,

I usually use gpx files from the internet to plan my bike tours. These files are imported with the recording date of the publisher. Accordingly, these dates are quite random which is irritating when I plan tours over multiple dates since the list gets messed up. Can I somehow change these creation dates?

Good day Cegam,

this is currently not possible in Locus.

Workaround should be

1) manually remove "date" tag in GPX file

2) improve naming of imported tracks and use sorting by it's name

3) together with point 2, maybe separating tracks into better group/folder structure?

You are probably aware of these options. I just wanted to mention, that there exists some alternative solutions form my point of view. What you think?

Hey Menion,

thanks for your reply!

I considered all your suggestions but they don't work for me :(

What I did for my tour was to download multiple GPX tracks as a preparation. And every no and then I plan major new legs by merging and connecting GPX tracks. It's roughly 50 GPX source files so manually deleting the tag is some sort of a hazzle. However, after having planned a new leg I cut off daily routes and call them

Plan Day 1

Plan Day 2

etc

The problem is that some of the GPX tracks were old and now I have the plans for day 19 and 20 before day 1.

Also, sorting by name doesn't work because it will be

1

10

2

20

...

@Cegam if you have less than 100 days, try using leading zero in the name eg. "day 01", "day 02", "day 10" etc.

Cegam - check this new topic - it may be a faster workaround to your request.

Thank you for making the connection, Andrew!

You are right, I also think that Menions fix will solve my problem :)
