Supports locus the speed and cadence sensors from POLAR?

Hi guys,

yesterday, I get my new speed and cadence sensors from Polar. I purchased this model, because the HRM Sensor works very well with my Samsung S3 and locusPro.

So I want to paired the new sensors. Locus fount both sensors but I can only select one connect. After connecting, I make a test. I can see no data input from the sensor. On the display I see "Verbunden" and "Keine gültigen Daten".

For another test I installed ipBike and ipSensorMan. With this software it's works, but I don't would like to use ipBike. Locuspro is much better.

If this model actualy not supported, please say me what I can do to help you for a solution.

Thanks

regards,

Ralf

Hello Ralf,

you are talking about this sensor? http://www.polar.com/en/products/accessories/speed_sensor_bluetooth_smart

"Polar sensor" in Locus Bluetooth manager is only for Heart rate monitons. Wrong naming, agree.

If you use above sensors, try to use "Bicycle speed and candence (BT 4.0)" in Locus Bluetooth manager and let me know if this works.

Hello Menion,

yes it's the right sensor.

My tries are with the selection "Bycicle speed and candence (BT 4.0)" in Bluetoothmanager. There is a symbol on the left side with arrows up|down|up.

I attached 3 screenshots.

I have a H6 HRM and this very fine.

Ralf, unfortunately I have no idea what may be wrong. On web page of Polar for developers ( http://developer.polar.com/wiki/Cycling_Speed_%26_Cadence ) is information for developers. And only info is link to official documentation from Google. And this is exactly what I've followed when I did support for this type of sensor. Interesting.

Hmm sensors are quite expensive to purchase them only for testing. So you should try to create for me a log with this method: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log , hope there will be something useful.

Hey Menion,

Same problem here. The issue is that the polar speed and cadence sensors are two SEPARATE sensors. When attempting to connect via the app, it tries to connect as a combined sensor. This means data from only one of the sensors is displayed, and does not support connecting both at the same time. Any way a fix can be pushed for this to allow connecting to two of the sensors at the same time? (One for speed and one for cadence). Thanks!

Good day Ryan,

what you describe is a new feature - option to connect sensors separately. For this already exists new topic here, so feel free to vote: http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/seperate-bt-speed-cadence-sensors

Well bummer. Ok. I'll vote. Hopefully the feature gets implemented soon! :) Kind of pointless to have the sensor if it doesn't work with the app I use
