As the title says. It tells me about problems with the server. Can someone confirm that, any established time when this is going to be fixed?

Hm no problems here with last version.

Please try it again (with small area and also with another onlinemap).

another onlinemap worked. (25k satellite tiles from basemap.at). I tried it on 3 devices... everytime the same, when reaching Zoom 17, anywhen it stops to download, because of error 2. It just downloads a small amount of tiles (sometimes just one) and the errormsg comes

Hello Alexander,

in this case, please write us exact area (coordinates) you tries to download and zoom levels. So I can simulate what you do on own device. Thanks

Hi Menion

Here are the coords:

N 48° 15.493 E 16° 11.940

N 48° 12.627 E 16° 11.871

N 48° 12.549 E 16° 17.787

N 48° 15.521 E 16° 17.889

And here the video, with the steps and the error. (You can skip parts of the end, when downloading). I did this video on PC to make the video, but similar (always Zoom 17) happens, when I try it with my 2 smartphones.

On my main smartphone I am at 61211/212296 tiles, but still there is Zoom 18 :p if I restart the download most times just 1 tile will be downloaded, sometimes few more and the error appears again

I will delete the video afterwards

it's something, so it seems to be a problem by mapquest

but well.. are you in contact with MapQuest? Any comment by them?

Hi,

don't talk me about MapQuest.

1. this problem ... I'm testing it and seems that server returns this error: "The service timed out while waiting for a response from an upstream server". So definitely problem on their server. Communication with them is really terrible last months and as you will read in my answer below, there is no reason to try to fix this.

2. MapQuest - they were completely free. Two years ago when we asked for some limits, they responded - no problem, set "no limits" (anyway we still set 100k tiles per day, rather). Anyway three months ago they completely changed it's policy - https://developer.mapquest.com/plans . We found it in moment, that MapQuest routing service stopped working. So currently we pay 400€ just for routing service. In summer it will be probably a lot more so expect some change here in next months. For now, MapQuest maps are still for free anyway I read that it will be also changed. And because of their overpriced policy, expect that MapQuest maps will be removed completely. So I really suggest to download different maps, or better download LoMaps from Locus Store or any other maps from OpenAndroMaps or other sources. They are a lot better then MapQuest, really.

"don't talk me about MapQuest." sounded unfriendly in the first place... but then I understood.. kk, thank you

It was unfriendly only against MapQuest itself, who has really overpriced policy ... mainly compare to "years for free" and then suddenly ...

Thanks for understanding and sorry if it sounded unfriendly against You at start. Really give a try to some vector maps (no matter of source). I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised if you do not know them yet.
