Support for wahoo fitness sensors

Wahoo has some interesting sport sensors. They support both protocols - BT and ANT+. So you have more possibilities to connect depending on your smartphone.

The cadence-sensor is magnet free – very easy to mount on your bike / shoe. They have replaceable Batteries.

I hope it's easy to support the BT4.0-Version of these sensors.

Cheers

Do these sensors need special support or do they act as some standard BTLE bike sensors? I got a cheap HRM sensor from China and it just worked so I'd expect Wahoo sensors to work, too.

(But RFLKT and the ANT+ bridge in RFLKT+ are obviously a very different matter, they need a special support.)

I'm going to buy a magnet-less Wahoo RPM Cadence Sensor. My phone only supports Bluetooth 4.1. The Bluetooth manager has to "speed and cadence," while the cadence sensor measures only. There are owners of the sensor? Does it work with Locus Pro?

Hello, in latest version of Locus seems to be some problem with BT 4.0+ support on some Android devices, that will be solved in next version. Anyway if such sensor really perfectly works or not is a good question and I'm also waiting on answer of Tomáš question.

So my answer here is: "it should, but it's not confirmed".

In your opinion, It can be an obstacle that cadence sensor measures instead cadence+speed, as indicated in the settings?

I don't think this should be a problem. Locus should be able to read only cadence if speed is not available, anyway I don't have personal experience so cannot guarantee, sorry.

Best should be to get information from someone who already use it or count with possibility, that it may not work in Locus (so use for these cases some alternative application). Sorry I don't have better information for you.

Hello guys,

based on longer discussion and mainly testing in different topic , I may finally gladly announce that Wahoo HR and Wahoo Speed & Cadence sensors should be fully working with latest 3.18.6 version of Locus. Previously there were some issues with reconnecting and reading correct values.

Enjoy summer.

Hello,

I confirm that the Wahoo Heart Rate, Speed and Cadence (Wahoo TICKR X) is perfectly working with the last version of Locus (on a Sony Xperia SP).
