POI edit dialog: Is keyboard not appearing by intention despite name is initially selected?

When I open a POI in editing dialog of Locus 3.16.0, the name is initially selected (the complete text has a grey-bluish background). Is the virtual keyboard not appearing by intention? If yes, please consider not to initially select the text of the name field but e.g. the icon. Why? Personally, I do expect that the keyboard appears when I'm in a text box, so again and again, I wait a while - also, as in older Locus versions (maybe a year ago), the keyboard was appearing (same device and Android version) often with a little latency, so tapping onto another field like description was triggering a keyboard key and thus coincidentally replacing the name with a letter/number/... so I was conditioned to wait a little until the keyboard showed up.

Good day Georg,

from developer point of view, work with keyboard in Android is quite disaster and there is no 100% guarantee method, how to show/hide keyboard on request. Anyway method I use now, work without problems as I know. Seems not in your case. Keyboard should correctly appear (with small delay as you wrote).

Anyway I also think that this behavior may be influenced by combination of device/rom/keyboard app, so it's almost impossible to correctly fix it. Anyway you may use situation as is - no keyboard = no worry, no need to wait. Right? :)

Sounds weird that there is no explicit control over keyboard appearance... Anyway, I can live with current status, I "just" need to re-condition myself that only in Locus the keyboard won't appear even tough cursor is in a text box. Issue can be closed :)

Isn't this related to the "Disable Lockscreen" feature?

If youre using pattern or code keyboard will not pop up?

Temp solution: Touch Homebutton, unlock...then enter Locus again..everything ok.

@Hellgeir: These are two different issues. This one does no crash/freeze Locus, but keyboard does not appear when POI/track edit dialog opens - both happen in the issue you mentioned. But thanks for pointing it out :)
