Custom backup location

Phones like the OneX ( no sd card) or Galaxy S3 ( SDCard mount is actually internal, normal SD card is extSD card) , if they develop fault and have to go back etc, backup files would not be retrievable, if the Backup could be set to a different location the problem would be avoided.
Even better would be if the backups could be sent to dropbox
