unfortunately non of team behind Locus, has any experience with GPS trackers, so we cannot help here a lot. Maybe any user active here on forum may helps with it?

Opengts works well. I am using geotab go7 from gofleet. https://www.gofleet.com/product/gps-vehicle-tracking-device
