Opening Track recording panel takes a long time to open

Hi.

Recently I have been having a problem

where it takes 10 or more seconds for Track recording panel to appear

after pressing the button. Any ideas what might be causing this

behaviour?

Good day Ivan,

this is really interesting. I never received some similar issue to this one. Currently I have no idea what may affect this. Is it happen only with track record side panel? Main menu or new "Map content" are without any troubles?


Maybe you should try new Beta version release just today because I just made few major changes in layout of side track recording panel.

Hi. I have no problem with other parts of the app. I tried Locus Free beta and I get an error during initialization. Attached is a screenshot.

Hello Ivan,

this happen also to me

for using this Beta in the meantime i installed Android4 FREE apk from

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:devices_older_android#android_40x

on my SGS2 CM13


after installation i´ve updated FREE via playstore

Recording panel works great in Beta. Opens instantly. Thanks! I hope this makes it to Pro soon.

Glad to hear it. Can't imagine what it may caused.

Hi. I have figured out which setting causes this behavior. I have reproduced this behavior in beta version by enabling automatic export for any recording profile (it does not have to be the currently default one). As soon as I turn off this feature everything is back to normal.


I hope this helps to reproduce this bug.

Hello Ivan,

thank you for extra information. Does it matter, what "export" is defined? I'm trying to define export to GPX, GPSies, but it makes no difference in my case.

Hi.


It behaves the same with other types (I tried GPX, KML/KMZ and CSV). Device is Nexus 6P runnning Android 7.0. The app seams to slow down as soon as I press SET on the "Data export" screen. It takes 3-4 seconds after pressing the back button to return to the previous screen and around 10 seconds for the Track recording panel to open after turning automatic export on. Thanks for looking into this.

Hello,

I've only method to test it and it's on Android emulator. Unfortunately there all works fine. May you please try to create a log right after you tap on this "Set" button by this method? Thank you.

Hello Ivan,

thank you for a log. Unfortunately no usable information found there.

Version of Android 7.0 is some final official version or still some "work in progress" version?


Anyway I'm sorry, for now I do not have any possible solution here. I'm unable to simulate this problem now, so only solution seems to be creating special Locus version that will print out some more information. I'll anyway try to wait till Android 7.0 will be more widely used, if more people comes with same problem. Thanks for understanding.
