"Smudged" fonts since 1.16.2 ?

Hi, Locus still brilliant as ever.
One small problem with the latest update (1.16.2) on my Transformer Tablet the map page headings and the menu headings etc are in a bold font with what appears to be a grey "smudge" behind the characters - just looks out of focus!
