How to calibrate compass

Hi,

is there any way to calibrate the compass ? It sometimes shows to a direction which is not correct.

Sometimes I get in Google Maps the message I shall calibrate it, but then I'm driving my car :o

Hi Wolfgang and Wolfgang :),

from my experience, don't search for some mystery tools. Just open Locus Map, start rotation of map or just open "compass" and wave with your device like you want to draw a number 8 (key is to rotate device around all three axis). Thanks all ... calibration done. This always helped me.

best and simple way is to install a free compass app e.g.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androits.compass.free&hl=de

inside these apps is a function to clibrate the sensor
