I have 9 news items on my app. Some are not available in my language and some are of no concern to me at all. How do I dismiss/delete them?

just tap the "eye" icon in the top right corner of each news in the list - they'll be marked as read and won't disturb you any longer.

Thanks for the prompt answer. Unfortunately, that has done nothing but remove the 'eye' marker. I even closed the app afterwards but the next time I opened and went to news items they were still there, albeit 'eyeless'

I see, I thought you are upset by the red number marker notifying of new news - that disappears after un-eyeing the news, not the news themselves.
