`Problem with Internet connection!` when Address searching

Solved

Hi Menion, thanks again for the app!

I have a problem with Address searching tool. I have a Wi-Fi connection active and the Internet is working OK, but when I try to search some address, I get only the `problem with Internet connection` message. But for example the Weather tool in Locus loads data without problems.

Did this problem still exist for you even with latest version?

In Locus is possibility to change provider for address search (from default Google to MapQuest), so you may try if this is not just Google issue. Also searching for address by Google is integrated in Android system, so I`m worried that with this issue will be very hard to do something ... (so I hope this problem do not exist anymore)

Yeah, thank you. Now it works on Wi-FI connection )

But on 3G connection I still can`t search the address. I have DroidWall installed, so it blocks all the apps to go to the Internet except the ones I allow manually. I have added Locus to the white list. So the Weather tool works for me OK, but the search tool doesn`t if I use Google provider. (I tried to use MapQuest, it works, but the gives bad results in Russia).

Hi,

what type of mobile device do you use? Because some of the type are not Google certified and do not have access to Android Market and other Google services. It means, you can ́t search address by Google services (in the way it is implemented now). If you have got for example device Arnova, more here about it http://arnovatech.com

Hi Hana,

No, that`s not the case. I use Motorola Defy and I have access to all that stuff. The problem occurs only on 3G connection because of the firewall. I added Locus to the white list, still I can`t search with Google provider. Why?

Maybe, the firewall is the problem, because you added Locus only to the white list, but for searching address by Google you need some Google service not only Locus. Please, try allow to access some Google service (I don ́t know which exactly).
