Avg. speed (All) and Pause

Hi

I use Locus maps for Audax (long distance) cycling. I have three speed fields on my display

• Speed (current speed)

• Avg. moving speed (Movement)

• Avg. speed (all)

When I stop for a break I pause the recording because I don't want spurious distance adding to my track due to the gps signal jumping around whilst I'm stationary (could be for upto an hour).

When I restart, the time for which I have been paused is not included in the Avg. Speed overall so it is actually higher than it should be. It might be worthwhile splitting the Avg. speed (All) field into two different values

Avg. Speed (All excluding pauses)

Avg. Speed (All including pauses)

Thanks in advance

HI Steven,

wouldn't it be more useful to change the Average speed (all) behavior so that Locus records also the time during a pause?

Yes. But it also depends on what the Authors are trying to achieve.

Hello,

hmm and does it make sense to recorded time also during this pause? It looks to me that you try to use "pause" to fix GPS problems your device has. Because in case, recorded GPS data should be without any "jumps" during pause, then this "pause" has no sense here, right?

Maybe you should try to tweak tracking profile little bit and set there bigger values for "minimal distance" that should help here I believe. What you think?
