How to restore the backup files saved in a local and cloud storage?

Hi all,
Can you help how to restore the files I have backed up in my local PC drives and in dropbox?
I change phone, but I backup my files; but i don't know how to restore it in my new phone. Should I just copy and paste the files in the app root folder?
I have a lot of POIs and tracks that I accumulated for several years now. Some of the track are already in GPSIES site; but not all POIs are exported there.
I would appreciate your help. Thanks!
