Geocaching - Download logs not showing new logs

Hi there,


I'm experiencing trouble in Logs tab in Geocache detail. When I tried to "Download logs," there is popup informing me about logs download progress but finally, no log is shown.


Maybe it is settings problem, but probably not...


Locus Map Pro 3.25.5

Geocaching4Locus 2.1.5.5

funny. I have tried it with one of my caches and it works as expected.

I am using Locus Pro 3.25.5 and G4L 2.1.5.5 too.

So it is a setting problem. Are you a premium member at groundspeak and are you logged in geocaching.com in both APPs in order to use the API by groundspeak?

Another idea: Your log of the geocache is "quite old". Is the cache still active or is it archived?

for me it work with latest Beta, but with latest official PRO and new official PRO V 3.26.0 updates are only visible after i reopen the listing!


Edit: Upps, my experience is with "update cache" and not with "download logs" sorry

Hi all,


@c.s.g: I hope it will work even for archived caches, just download latest # of logs. I'm PM and logged in.

@balloni55: Does not work even for Update cache.


In screenshot you can see, that logs are downloaded (at least progress bar seems doing something), but logs are not shown. I can remember this problem in older versions, when downloaded logs were not shown. Workaround was to close GC detail and open it again. But now it is not working.

Hi all,


I have just updated to Locus Pro 3.26.0 .... and have still no problems updating logs of a cache.

The only thing I have recognized: After Locus has downloaded the logs it activates the tab "ALLGEMEIN" for a short time and then returns to the "LOG" tab .... no need to close and reopen the cache listing.

just another guess ..... what are your settings in Limit stored logs in Geocaching settings. I have "No Limits" set.

I have also number of stored logs set to unlimited.

But maybe... maybe some new feature of Android 8 SDK ?

Hi guys,

I thought that this issue was solved in latest version of G4L, but seems not. Issue ( if I think correctly ) is in Locus API that is used in Geocaching4Locus and ...


.. ah as I see, G4L use older version of API. Arcao, please consider update, thanks ;).


Issue is probably in communication of G4L to correct version of Locus Map application. xpj, do you use also Beta version (Free)? If so, un-install it and try it again, it should work ;).

I just tried Locus Map Free in Beta and works as expected.


So now I can wait for new GC4L and then it will work also in Locus Map Pro...

after i update Beta to current FREE , as well on FREE and PRO i have to reopen listing to see all logs or cache updates

Hi guys,

currently it's out public version 3.26+ and no new Beta version. So you may give it a try to un-install any Free/Beta version and keep only single version in device, if all will works as expected. If will, then it really means that problem is in two Locus Map apps installed at once and that this issue will be solved in any future updates of G4L when new Locus API 0.2.11+ will be used. Thanks for understanding.

Now, after uninstalling the FREE version with only PRO on my device all cache updates are displayed immediately.

So please inform on forum when you puplish next BETA, for now i am not informed automaticly from playstore..
