Photo-point doesn't work as expected

Points tab ; +Add : Photo-point.

I expect to be able to browse to a .jpg on my phone, select it, and have a point set on the map at the coordinates of the photo. When I tap on the point the photo is displayed.

I can only take a photo; cannot browse to an already existing .jpg

Hi Larry

"Photo-point" always take a new photo.

so use "New point">Attachement/+/and you will find all options, also to select one or more from folder on your phone

I’m sorry that I was not more clear.  What you suggest does attach a photo to a point.  But It does not use the coordinates in the photo.  I still have to set them some other way.  The photo is just as it says – an attachment.  What I’m suggesting is that Photo-Point should do what it says “Take or select photo and add it on the map”.  It should allow me to browse and select a photo (.jpg).  If the .jpg has coordinates then those coordinates become the default coordinates of the point on the map.  Simple.

Thanks,

Larry B.

Hi Larry,

thank you for the report - you notified us of a mistake in description of the feature - actually now it works as @balloni55 said. We'll add the option to add photo directly from the phone gallery in the next version.

Hi Michal

as i see in new Beta you add the function to select a existing photo from device folder, but the photo is always set to mapcenter and not to its existing coords

Hi Wolfgang,

exactly :) The way Larry suggests has to be solved technically yet. Not as easy as it looks. Menion's working on it. For the time being, we're just testing this version.
