Hello Louise,

unfortunatelly, there isn`t any plan to create the app Locus for Windows Phone.

What kind of question is that?

Switching from Android to Windows Phone is like one step forward making two steps back!!!

its not switching, you still keep the android, but it would be cool to make routes on PC, use it on your windows Laptop/Tablet next to your android smartphone and so on

The question was for a Windows 8 Phone, so I guess this will not work for Louise.

Berkley, you obviously haven't tried Windows Phone yet. It's far superior to Android, both in terms of performance and security. Just see how many Android phones get hacked, its OS security model is 10 years old.

Anyway, it'd be great to have WP version of Locus!

I have had my new Windows phone from work for about two weeks, and I am gradually developing a profound dislike of it, I can't decide if dropping it in a river or smashing it with a hammer is better. Actually smashing it with a hammer would be better, then at least I could get the Micro Sd card out of it.

Mouahahahaha agree with you, the best tool to use with any Window version is definitely hammer ! Pleeeeaaaase send us a video of the action !!! :-)))

Yeah, i'll hope there will come out a Windows 10 "Universal App". With Projekt Astoria it should be simpler as it was for 3 Years. Some devolopers leaked the Projekt and could run native Androidapps direct one the WP10. But i don't know if it will work with this finest Android App.

An other big Advantage is: you will bring the best OSM Viewer app on the PC. Not only on the Smartphone. If you'll take a look on the OSM-Wiki, you'll see, that there are not realy any alternatives. There a NO! alternatives: I searched for 3 days and testet a lot of them. But there is no great app. i have to use 3 apps on PC. The UI is also not so userfriendly as your software...

not realy Alternatives on PC: basecamp, and qlandkarte... but's its not make me realy happy...

Hello Christian,

I'm always worried when something like this appear. Locus is quite complex app with huge requirements on system and these "bridges" may cause only troubles. Currently this seems to be some "beta" version so we will see once it will became official public version.

Anyway I absolutely agree that using Locus in Windows 10 directly without any emulator should be awesome :)

Given that the developers of Locus have climbed to the top of the heap in the Android world (#1 market), and have already said they have no plans for an iOS version (#2 market), I'd hold out little hope for a Windows version (#3 market).

And I fully support this. Better to make a superb product for one market, than stretch yourself too thin and make a passable product for three markets. Software development does not scale very well...

Hello

Old subject, but if anybody is interested, try the Android emulator Bluestacks .

I tried several emulators on a rather old dual core computer with no fancy graphic card.

All these emulators were far too slow, with the exception of Bluestacks that works surprisingly well with Locus (I tried Locus version 3.19).
