LoMaps backup over GSM

Hi,

I am trying to backup my Lomaps to a Gdrive cloud but it seems that Locuspro does'nt accept to do it using the LTE GSM (smart)phone line. Is the Wi-Fi (WLAN) mandatory ? I am asking this because here in France, very often we have very fast LTE connections together with a huge amount of data allowed (20GB to 100GB per month). Real upload network speeds can reach 50 to 100Mb/s (i.e. 5 to 10 MB/s). Unfortunately the residential broadband xdsl connections are often of very low quality/stability with an upload speed below 1Mbit/s (i.e. 100kB/s). One can easilly understand that uploading using the home Wi-Fi in these conditions in really painful.

Best regards

Hello,

this is interesting and very important information for me. It is correct that currently all backup uploads and made only with active wi-fi connection. I've not expected such huge difference in common data limits.

Thanks, I'll most probably add into app optional settings with "Allow upload also over network connection". Will inform about changes here.

I can confirm the same situation for almost all of Turkey (except big cities) and some South Asian countries. An option to also backup Locus settings+data over LTE would be very convenient.

Hi guys,

oki understand. In next version will be option "Upload only by wi-fi" in menu > settings > misc. By default it will be enabled, so disable it for upload over GSM network as well.

Thanks,

Menion

Hi Menion,

This is just a feedback. Using the new 3.29.1 version, I have been able to use the GSM network. It is really great to be able to upload (or backup) 1 GByte file within arround 5 minutes ! Many THANKS !!! This means also that Google drive accepts very high upload speeds. In my case it was arround 50 Mbits/s sustained speed.

Using the home xDSL was so tricky and has never been achieved. The process was so long and always stoped reporting some "unexpected errors"

I may only envy with my 300 MB FUP limit :D.

Anyway glad it works!
