If you backup the complete Locus folder from your internal SD (the typical installation has a "Locus" on top level) and put this folder on the new phone, you have your complete environment at hand on the new phone - unchanged. I did that more than once.

Hi Ian,

the process may be a bit more complex if you have data not only in your internal memory but also on external SD. Instructions: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:move_to_new_device_sd_card

Hi Michal

I have made a backup Zip file of settings, points & tracks to my new phone in the directory Locus\backup. When I go to "restore", from a remote file,It requests a "URL". What do I put here? Am I on the right track?

Trust you can help me

Regards

Ian

Hi Ian,

the "remote file"option is used when you store the backup file on some other remote server than Dropbox and Google Drive, for which Locus offers direct online backup - e.g. MySpace, Mega, ONeDrive etc. Directory Locus/backup is in your phone, not out of it.

If you've already created a backup file in Locus/backup, copy it to your favourite online storage, generate a URL link to it and place the link to the URL field in "remote file" tab. Click LOAD.
