offer matching map for given point

Moving to one of the tons of POIs you accumulate over time it`s tedious to select the vector map that contains this POI. as the onboarding of new vector maps takesquite some time, and we know from the resp feature that you have the center of the map , it`s clear that you also know the perimeter. so its pretty easy for each given point to SQL the set of maps where it`s included. when the shape of map is not exactly rectangular this method may show maps that in fact do not contain the pointin question. but who cares : if you have a list of 1 to 10 candidate maps e.g., human brain instantly makes the choice. rather than scroll through alphabetically sorted lists of maybe 200 maps with annoyance.

makes sense ?

Cheers

Hi Michael. After first selecting the POI and then using the Quick Map Switch button, I get a choice for 4 or 5 nearby Maps. They do not all contain the area with the POI though, but I can easy make the best choice.

Cooool. THIS IS IT. The combination of those two functions works for me, too. Seems I never comprehended the features of the Quick Map button in depth. Thank you for the quick and helpful reply.

Merry Xmas.

Very nice to see, how community lives, thanks for answers also from me :)

And just one note ... sorting in "Quick switch dialog" is based on center of map and your location. In case, map is quite large, it may not appear in this list because some smaller maps have center closer.

I also know, that this system is not perfect and I`ll for sure improve in future

Ah and one last note ... if you know, in any area that you want to use some maps often in this switch, you may define center for SQLite maps (maps downloaded from online to offline directly in Locus, or created by MOBAC) directly in map context menu (maps screen, tab personal, tools icon on line with maps - http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu...)
