Dear Gents!

I am desperately looking for solution how to convert OZI Explorer map format ozf3x into Locus one.

I am before vocation so I do not have time explore plethora support forums!

I do know that Global mapper software can do it easily!

My desired map has special projection and pallete in order to I could see maps on sharp sunshine!

Any advice is welcomed!

Best regards

Hello Andy,

please have a look on mapc2mapc software - http://www.the-thorns.org.uk/mapping/

It seems that it shoudl be able to convert into Locus (RMAP) sqlitedb format. There is also detailed how to article: http://www.the-thorns.org.uk/mapping/help/locus.html

Best regards and enjoy your vacation.

Dear Petr,

I found solution from Slovak forum mtbiker.sk...so it just global mapper utility even working in trial mode!

But what is problem it is incredibly slow....there is hundrets tiles and it is running almost one hour in i5 quadcore premium laptop with 8 GB RAM memory!

Does anybody idea how to boost conversion itself??? (downsize DPI, resolution etc???)

I have my desired maps with special projection and optimized colour pallete in order to I could see it on sharp shunshine on LCD display of a handset!

Many thanks!

Dear gents!

I am experiencing another pain with global mapper SW.

If I am trying to launch conversion to locus map format it is complaining about missing GTAL library or msi...

I have downloaded some binary package but there is nothing as msi etc.

Does anybody have idea how to get these annyoing issues?

Any advice would be welcomed!

Dear Andy,

I guess that it's GDAL library...well I can only suggest to search other sites that are focused on mentioned SW. Maybe following could help: http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/173686/install-gdal-2-0-on-windows

I have the full Mapc2Mapc program so may be able to help. How many map files do you need converting?

Dear Gents,

I managed conversion by mapc2map utility. Two sqlitedb files are working on Locus PRO but 3rd map file is not recognized and when I move to this area there is blank white area. Is possible to check if my Ozi explorer raster may has been converted properly? Last question where to copy sqlite maps on older Android 4. If I put it into folder locus/maps I can not see my maps at all there. Any advoce would be highly welcomed. Kindesr regards, Andy

Dear Andrej,

I can only check your final sqlitedb map. Please share the map if possible for you. The default directory os really /Locus/maps (in the internal memory). Does Locus show any error message when you start it?

Thank you
