Cooperation with Mapfactor Navigator

In a forum post there was mentioned a navigation app (it`s in beta status) which works completely offline after downloading OpenStreetMaps: Mapfactor Navigator. I like the navigation-calculation of this app, but not it`s map display/handling.

http://play.google.com/store/apps/det...

How about a cooperation to try the following points:

1. both apps could use same mapfiles (my preference are the Locus maps because of the themes, but Navigator needs maps for calculation).

2. Locus could ask Navigator for a route between two points (to navigate like with the existing navigation sources). This also could include Locus recalculation feature (Just ask the "offline calculation tool").

3. Locus could export POIs to Navigator to manually create routes there on the base of several points (a big feature of Navigator which is not found very often in freeware)

4. Navigator could export routes (see 3.) to Locus to navigate in Locus.

Maybe we can have the advantages of both apps and Menion doesn`t have to put in to much navigation features in Locus.

I know the navigator and I`d really appreciate such a cooperation but honestly I see almost no chance for it.

However +1 from me.

Another alternative for offline/onboard route calculation would be Graphhopper https://groups.google.com/forum/?from...

much more possible is this http://help.locusmap.eu/responses/add_offline_routing_with_brouter

anyway I prepare small sample application for owner, where is really simple to add it`s routing stuff, but seems that there is no activity. You may write there also something to move that topic if you`ll be interested.

About cooperation with Mapfactor ... everything is possible, but I`m worried that tight cooperation between more programs is not too simply possible, but we`ll by number of votes if it deserve any action

I tried bRouter, but compared to MapFactor Navigator, it crashes very often, has performance problems and needs a lot of data (segment files). And it can not handle more than start and endpoint for a route. So I will contact Navigator developer and ask about having a look at the mentioned sample application.

@druki: Any feedback from MapFactor Navigator team?

I do not know if this app is still in developing, but I think there is almost zero chance for some tighter integration. By number of votes it's clear that it is also not a most wanted feature and compare to amount of work it should take to make it work, I'm closing it. Sorry guys.

The app is developed, there are updates from time to time and the app requests user to download updated maps.

But as I already assumed one year ago there is not too much we can expect from them.
