The "Locus - addon GSAK Database" add-on is no longer being supported. I just wasted quite a lot of time trying to use the add-on with Locus so I could import GSAK databases for use while geocaching. Since the add-on is no longer being supported and no longer works with the current versions of GSAK or the current verison of Locus I really think it should not be mentioned on your website. I realize your company did not develop the add-on, but I did learn about it through your web site. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing to say the least. I am wondering if you could possibly develop such an add-on? I would seriously reconsider using Locus for geocaching if it could import GSAK databases.

I took the soure code of the Add-On and made an Android 11 compatible version.

It is available in the Google Play Store.

Hi,


I've communicated with the add-on developer and he confirmed he'd stopped the development due to his being too busy elsewhere. However, the code of the add-on is open for development by somebody else: https://github.com/radimvaculik/LocusAddonGsakDatabase

I have installed the GSAK AddOn not knowing it has not been supported anymore. However, it works quite fine for me...

Because the login problem I had to Flash now my devices on Android 7.

Now, this addon won't do unfortunately also with me.


Maybe could it adapt Menion or someone else to current Android?

what exactly is a problem with this add-on? Kristian below wrote that it works correctly for him and even from original topic post I do not know what exactly "Does not work".

Difficult with google translator.

The problem is the following.

"Locus-addon GSAK database" as a standalone app works on my new LineageOS 14.1.

If I out "locus-addon GSAK database" from locus per start, crashes locus.

Message: GSAK database for locus was stopped. Then I have to reboot locus.


I hope you can understand that.

Thanks for a crash log send as private email.

As I read in the log, add-on complain that it is not possible to open database in read/write mode.

Because of restrictions that Android apply on access to SD card, I have to ask: do you have you GSAK database stored in internal memory of your device? If you placed it on SD card, try to move it to internal memory, it should then work I believe.

Unfortunately, access to the database in "write" mode stored on SD card is not now technically possible, so only what may be fixed here is not to allow to select the database on SD card and print some warning instead of this stupid crash.

Yes, it works again. You make me happy. I'm so glad. I thought with SuperSU, the restrictions are gone.

Good morning,

Unfortunately make SD card fully working like it was on good old Android 4.x and older is no longer possible. Maybe there is some hack on rooted device, not sure now, but ...

Anyway, I'm glad it works and for others: keep databases in internal memory for these add-ons to make it work correctly!

das ist super! Danke für die Mühe. Ich habe es mal ausprobiert. Funktioniert bei mir aber leider nicht. Android 10 / Locus 3.51.3

Habe dieselben Einstellungen, wie sie in der alten App waren, genommen.

Wenn man in Locus auf das App Icon klickt passiert nichts. Normalerweise müsste ja dann die App starten.


Kannst Du mal genauer die Einstellungen erläutern?

Habs hinbekommen, die erste sql Datei war defekt. Eine neu erstellte funktioniert. Klasse Arbeit, vielen Dank. Endlich wieder die beste Funktion für einen flüssigen Lauf.
