Use barometer of Wear OS devices for altitude

Gathering feedback

Right now very few smartphones have a barometric sensor, and external altimeters are not always a convenient choice. For those who have Wear OS smartwatches, I think it would be a great idea to get the altitude from the barometer of the watch (especially if it was possible to calibrate it).

Meanwhile, thank you for the fantastic app!

Given the recent update to Wear for Locus, is there any plan to add support for this?

Hello,

we still have some issues with correct HRM synchronization from the watch. But once we fix it the addition of barometer support during track recording could be relatively easy. But it will probably be a couples of weeks or months before a next larger update, so maybe then, I will definitely see what we could do about it.

Best Regards

Its will be great, becuse now fewer phone manufacturer built in baormeter for the phones maybe for cost reduction reason. If locus can use the watch baormeter what is good for example galaxy watch 4, the alituter datas will be more precisosus. For example it we go for 1200m ald hiking the phone with barometer show correct datas, the phone not show 20000m alt differenet. The problem is that the error correction not work very well in locus if we hiking in gorge. We are wait coriously for barometer data usage of the watch.

Hello Michele,

unfortunately, Milan who created this add-on in no longer part of the team behind the app. So for now, add-ons for watches are currently paused. Thanks for understanding.
