Problems importing tracks

Vitalii shared this problem 5 years ago
Solved

The program is very functional and easy to use. But when importing a GPX file that consists of several tracks, some tracks are displayed as two points connected by the line, some are not visible, and some are normal. When importing the KML file of the same track, the track is displayed normally, but it is not possible to set the color, it is not saved. There was no such version in the old version. It would also be nice to support the Magellan Point Icons so that they appear in the same way as Magellan.

Hi Vitalii,

problem is in the exporting device - the GPX file is corrupted, whereas KML is not. I imported the KML into Locus, exported all tracks in it to GPX and imported back to Locus as GPX - all is OK now. Also analysis of the GPX file unveiled that many trkseg tags are missing.

I do not see any sense in translating a track from a KML format that has already been imported into Locus in the GPX format and, on this basis, argued that the GPX format is normally imported into Locus. This is an invalid check.

I have exported this GPX file from Vantage Point and then reopened to Vantage Point and Ozi Explorer. In both programs, the GPX is displayed correctly.

Hi Vitalii,

the GPX file contains for example this:

<speed>4.64076063708828E+280</speed>

Locus is not able to understand such speed and therefore refuses to render the route line correctly.

Hi Mihail! So, yet, Locus does not display the file. This file was recorded using Magellan, and it appears in the service https://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=xmaixwchldhrubjv

It is also displayed correctly in Vantage Point and Ozi Explorer

I am sure that in 99% of cases for a tourist it is not important to rate the speed recorded by the instrument, but to display the track on the map.

I have a lot of tracks written by Magellan, so I would like to transfer them to the beautiful program Locus so I can use them.

Thank you!

Good afternoon Vitalii,

in next version 3.36, Locus Map will be able to load your tracks correctly (better: as you expect).

The solution is quite simple: speeds above a certain value will be ignored during import.

Good evening, Menion!

Great news! I thought to suggest the ability to ignore some indicators of points that exceed the reasonable limits.
