Is compass sensor required in Locus Pro

All,
I intend to buy a new tablet. The Huawei MediaPad T3 will fit my needs, a proper car-mounting is available.
After some research, I found out there is non compass sensor present.
Do I need the compass for Locus?
I use Locus for (offroad) car navigation - mainly displaying topographical maps, tracks and pois.

Hi Reinhold,
if you use Locus in the car only, you don't need compass sensor. What's more, compass sensor can't be used in a car - it intereferes with the car electronics. So the tablet you want to buy should be OK. Locus can detect orientation from GPS data.

It's as I expected. As long as I am moving, orientation is given. This will work for me.

Locus is running fine on Lenove Tab4 8 Plus, even without compass sensor ;)
