I want to Import a NMEA log file created by a SONY CS3KA - is it possible? What file extension is required for the log? I am using the current version of LOCUS PRO

Simply copy a *.nmea file into the folder ".../Locus/cache/nmea/".

Then start Locus, switch GPS off and on again and you should be asked, if you want to use the NMEA file from cache.

yes I can confirm that what berkley mentioned works. Anyway count that this is mainly testing feature that is used mainly for debugging and testing.

Btw. why you need to import NMEA files directly? Don`t you have ability to export data from your receiver to other format instead of NMEA? (gpx/kml for example)

Thank you for your answers. I tried the approach with the cache directory - but then I do not have a track like when I import a GPX file. The great thing with my receiver (SONY CS3KA) ist the fact that it connects as a USB drive - not software needed. So I have only raw NMEA files. I know of no Android software to convert these files to GPX - do you? Therefore I would like to import NMEA files like I can import GPX.

Btw - I did some experiments with GPX files and imported one with a single of about 32000 points. Scrolling seems to be very slow in LOCUS with this track shown. Would it be better to split the track into multiple segments? What is a good size for one segment?

I`ve changed this topic to "idea", because currently it`s not possible to simply import NMEA data
