Miscalculation of distance to target

Jörg jogypilot shared this question 4 years ago
Answered

When I use the guided track I can see the distance to the target. It works for some time correct but than the distance starts to increase. After restart the guiding it works for some time correct again until it starts to increase again. When I reach the target there is still a great distance to the target.

It happens since one of the last updates and with different tracks.

Hi Jörg,

I can't simulate the issue. We'll have to wait for some more feedback regarding this.

I think I know the problem. In the configuration of the track guiding is an option 'strictly follow the track'. If you miss a waypoint with this option checked because of a detour the distance to the target starts to increase. Switch it off and the calculation doesn't hangs on a missed waypoint.

Hi Jörg,

such situation is clearly visible on the map - the guided line is stuck to the missed waypoint. "Strict following" is used only in special ocassions when it is cruscial not to miss any point on the route.

Hi Michael,

the problem is the guided line is so tiny I can't recognise it while going on bicycle 😕

Hi Jörg,

as almost everything in Locus, also the guiding line can be resized or its color changed: settings > guidance > Line size, Line/text color.

Thank you for the hint. There are so many things to configure i didn't survey that yet.

Greetings Jörg
