Lose gps position when navigating, but screen is off, only when not recording

Hello, while I am navigating and not recording, whenever the screen turns off, I get a lost position warning sound after around 20-30 seconds, and I do not get a new position until I turn on the screen again. If I am recording at the same time as navigating, then this problem does not happen. The problem only started a few months ago but I cannot say if it was from an app update or an Android update.

"Disable when app is hidden" and "gps on for track recording" are off. "Gps on for guidance" is on. GPS auto off is disabled.

Hi,

this behavior is most probably caused by your device battery optimization. Exclude Locus from it or turn it off. Various manufacturers have various methods, not all of them are included in the "battery optimization" settings section, they can be scattered over whole settings including security etc. All our knowledge on this problematics is summarized here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6 or here: https://dontkillmyapp.com/.

best regards

Thank you for the information. I did have Locus Maps included in the "stamina" exclusion list, before and after the problem started. I can't remember, but I think whether or not "stamina" was selected (but not active since it only turns on at 15% battery) did not make a difference. Perhaps the behavior has since changed. I have now added "Location Services" to the exclusion list, and I will test tomorrow to see if this fixes the problem.

I can confirm that adding location services to the battery saver exclusion list solved this problem.
