database bigger than 4gb

i downloaded a map of my faforit location over a long period. how can that be that the database becomes a size of 4095MB and tha app says this size is not to handle. how locus can fill data over its own limit? how can i shrink or emptying the database to a size which works?

Hi,

Simply - that isn’t possible because this is limitation of Android system. Maximal size of SQL database on Android 4.1 is 4 GB.

Please aware that downloading such huge map is not suggested. You overload map servers and limit other users.

- Splitt your map (eg as "mymap_zoom00-14" "mymap_zoom15-16"....

@mr voldan -> i understand your suggestion but simply to say "that isn`t possible" is just funny because it is what it is and i didn`t making this up! at this point it is sensless to discard the existing file.
