Not all map themes available with new openadromaps (v4)

Hi,

I just installed the new openandromaps v4. With these new maps I don't have the Locus internal map themes (hike & bike, city, road,..) any more available. Also other themes are missing.

Is this a problem of locus or of the maps?

I know that openandromaps have it's own great themes but I need additionally the city theme which gives a great overview of a map.

Good day Wolfgang,

this is the current limitation of the latest Locus Map versions. We are aware of this problem, but it needs a bigger change in the app itself. It is work in progress and the solution will be available most probably during March/April. Thanks for understanding.

For now, internal themes, as well as most of the 3rd party themes, needs V3 based maps. If you want to use V4 maps, you need to download V4 based themes like Voluntary, Velocity or probably new themes from OpenAndroMaps.

Hallo Wolfgang, weil ich gestern den Unterschied zwischen v3 und v4 kennengelernt habe. Du kannst unter openandromaps dir auch v3 Karten runterladen. Die ML-Karten sind v4 die anderen Karten für Locus sind v3.

Das ist zwar korrekt, stimmt aber nur noch bis Mitte Mai 2019. Dann werden wohl nur noch aktuelle V4 Karten angeboten. Siehe auch hier.

Thats true but only until may 2019. After that only frequent updated V4 maps are available. Look here too.

I know this thread has been dormant for a long time but I wondered if this issue was fixed as I cannot see the any of the expected internal themes when viewing maps from OpenAndromaps. In particular I wanted to use the Ski theme. At the moment I can only see the General theme.

if you want to use "locus ski theme" you have to use OpenAndromap V3 or LoMaps

I have the same question/problem. I'd like to use the internal theme "street" together with OpenAndroMaps v4. Is there any progress on this issue?

Hi another Wolfgang,

Just testet it with the newest LoMaps (12.05.2020) and OSM Maps V4 (06.08.2020) for Germany. I am afraid the statement of Wolfgang is still true:

If you want to use "locus street theme" you have to use OAM V3 or LoMaps.

Little update - because I also miss the internal Ski theme.

There exists an Elevate 5 Winter Fork theme, available here: https://www.senotto.de/Tipps_Tricks/GPS/OAM_Winter/OAM_Winter.html

You need to first uninstall your current Elevate theme before installing this one.
