Line style of track changes when guiding activated

Henk van der Spek shared this problem 4 years ago
Solved

In 3.44.2 when I activate guiding the line style changes to the style of the track itself and ignores the line style of the folder allthough it is set to use the folders style.

This was not the case in 3.43.1.

I hope this can be fixed (but please do not change anything else in guiding since this version seems to be improved and solves my old problem with guiding on reverse).

Hi,

we already noticed this issue and it'll be solved in 3.45.0. This issue happens only when you use the style for the track from a folder definition. As a workaround, you can set style directly to track and start guiding.

Thanks, Petr

Thank you.

Funny how my favorite style, arrows nr 3, are also changing direction now after activating guiding on reverse. But I will get used to that; not so bad.

New little problem with 3.44.2 on my wife's Android 10 Motorola One:

With activated guiding, not stopping the guiding but just closing Locus via the back button (and confirming the message) , the guiding is still active. At least the warning beep for too much distance from the track keeps going on. And after restarting Locus the latest guiding is again also active (which never was the case before).

Checking the app status through the app drawer, it seems inactive (stop button greyed out) but the beep only stops after swiping up Locus in the "last used screens/apps" overview.

Hello Henk,

if you close Locus Map by back-press, did you wait a while (10 seconds) or you just immediately tap on start icon again? Please wait a moment, I'm sure it will work correctly.

Also, what device and system are you using?

3.44.2 on my wife's Android 9 (sorry, wrote 10 before) Motorola One. And yes we waited long enough. Actually we were driving home in the car after the hike and hearing the beep we blamed each other for not shutting off Locus. :)

After that I offcourse tested it at home. It is 100% reproducable for me.

Is there another way for shutting off apart from backpress or swiping up Locus in the "last used screens/apps" overview?

Yeah, 3.44.3 solves the issue with line style during guiding at both our phones.

The new above mentioned (small) issue on the Android 9 phone that it does not shut off guiding when you close Locus, is still there.

I restarted the phone after installing this new version.

I started a new guiding. GPS position was 100 meters off track; beep set at 75 m. Beep sounds. Close Locus. Beep still sounds every 20 seconds as set.

Start Locus after at least 2 minutes. After startup the guiding is still active (and beeps offcourse).

NB. only on our Android 9 phone, not on my Android 7 phone.

NBB. when we discussed this yesterday during our hike, we found that a "beep setting" of max. 5 repeats would be helpfull. Not only for this minor issue but also when we deliberately stray off track.

Hello Henk,

weird that same problem does not happen on my own device, because this should really not depend on the device. Anyway, I've just made a small update in the closing system, so in the next version 3.45, this should be solved as well. Thanks.
