Automatic adding and initialising of a new map sent to "maps" folder during Locus turned ON

I`m creating/compiling many maps, pretty often. Usually I`m transmitting new maps to my phone over Dropbox. Usually map is received and put to "maps" directory when Locus in turned on.

In these circumstances, Locus will not "feel" this new map, and will not give me a chance to choose it and use it. I need to restart Locus. Its harder and harder to exit Locus nowadays (eg. Live Tracking working in a background), so its hard to test a new map.

IDEA is to create a new option in Maps window: "Refresh (and initialise) map`s folder"

The IDEA should be that Locus AUTOMATICALLY recognizes changes to one of the maps folders and does a rescan. No useless interface clutter please, it`s bad enough already ;-).

And I agree... quitting Locus is very hard these days. It will also destroy your chance of a properly recorded track (one SINGLE track) and force you into database track joining madness for the rest of the day.

For this reason, I usually FORCEQUIT Locus (long click on app in the android notification area, app-info, force stop) or simply reboot the phone. Thats currently the only chance to continue a track recording later.

I agree, that can be one of the good way of doing that. I was also thinking this way, but I thought that automatic folder scanning will increase use of phone`s processor/memory. Manual refreshing will not be so consuming.

joeloc, I don`t agree with your "useless interface". What is annoying you so much? Please give me some examples.

"Please give me some examples" ... that was bad idea :D

Dont you worry... everything has been said already :-).

"Use interface clutter" in this case just meant "adding another option where none is needed" because Locus might just as well do everything automatically behind the scenes.
