Galaxy Watch 46mm not recognising Locus Map pro bought on Amazon on the phone

Hi,

I bought and downloaded Locus Map Pro from Amazon. I have since bought a Samsung Galaxy watch and installed the watch app.

When I attempt to open the app on my watch I see, “To use Locus Map Pro on your watch, install Locus Map Pro on your phone”

I have cleared data and cache from Samsung Accessory Service but am seeing the same message.

The phone app version is 3.40.1

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi David,

Each instance of Locus Map is available in four versions - LM Pro and LM Free, both in versions for Google Play and Amazon. Each version has a different ID and as such is perceived as a separated app by Samsung, respectively operation system Tizen. Samsung, unfortunately, does not allow us to develop a multi-platform app. This means that if we wanted to cover all possibilities, we would have to release four versions of Locus Map Watch for Samsung, which would cause a lot of confusion among users/customers. Therefore, we resolved to make only two versions - for Locus Map Free and for Locus Map Pro, Google Play version only. For cases like yours, we provide a free Google Play voucher on Locus Map Pro. If you are interested, please let me know and I'll send the voucher to your e-mail.

Hi Michal.

For me the same. I have left the next comment on Google play store:

Downloaded on my Samsung Galaxy Watch, but it doesn't work. I have purchased the mobile app from Amazon Store which works perfectly, but the app from my watch can't recognise that I have already downloaded the app, but it's still showing me the Google Play store link to download the mobile app, despite the fact that I have already have the Pro version on my phone from Amazon store. And I can't find the solution for this. The app from my watch doesn't want to connect to the app on my phone.

OMG, you are from Montenegro? If that is the case, I'm sorry... only if you are able to use some VPN service to hide your real location... otherwise, I can't help you.

I have similar problem.I bought Locus Pro from Playstore and installed addon for my Galaxy Watch 46mm...and NO CONNECTION to a my S10+ phone.Now it is unusable app using only on phone or watch without sync...Also, I am unable to transfer my recorded routes from watch into a phone.

@Tin we've recently registered thet Samsung issued a firmware update on Galaxy Wear solving this connection problem. Please update your watch firmware. If the problem prevails, go to your phone system settings > Applications > Samsung Accessory Services and delete its data.

As for the recorded tracks - Locus Map Watch is just an extended screen/controller of Locus Map Pro running on the phone - it is not a standalone app. If you have some tracks recorded by a thir party app in your watch, then it should be no problem to import such tracks to Locus in your phone. Locus supports many formats - GPX, TCX, FIT etc.

Yes Michal...I have newest firmware on Watch and did all the steps...but nothing so far. :-(

And do you have a compatible Locus addon? If you have Locus Map Pro in your phone it is necessary to have Locus Map Pro Watch in the watch. The Tizen OS unfortunately doesn't enable using one addon for both Locus versions.

I have Locus Map on watch...I don't know there is on Playstore pro version for watch because I couldn't find it.:-(

the Locus Map Watch addon is not on the Play Store. It is on Galaxy Appstore in your watch.

Yes of course. Here is recepie and I installed app.

But it seems app is not compatibile between with my S10+ and Galaxy Watch 46mm.

I am reseting watch and phone and try again.

There is message on phone app "unable to connect device"..App can see my watch but it can't connect even everything else works fine.

Just a minute...I am reseting damn watch again.:-((

I will try to catch screenshot because it is short message on Locus phone app.:-)

some of my biking friends wants to buy Locus as well but they are waiting also to see me how to fix around this.:-)))

OK...Here it is on phone messages...App recognize watch but unable to connect even I did clean starts.

I DID IT ! Downgrading firmware on Galaxy Watch on Tizen 4.0.0.1 did the trick.:-))
