Display activation Samsung Galaxy S10

Hi,

I've already tried a lot to get the display activation on my Samsung Galaxy S10 to work, unfortunately without success.

The notification tone is activated and can also be heard.

The display can also be activated with the on / off button without deactivating a lock.

But there is always only a small line with a notification text, which then comes back every second. The display remains dark.

I have tested Locus both as a service and normally, unfortunately without success.

Has anyone on the Galaxy S10 successfully the display activation and can anyone tell me the settings?

This would be a very useful function to save power.

Thanks Norbert

Hi Norbert,

Locus Map needs your system administration rights (permission allowing to change settings of your phone). The box prompting about this permission emerges shortly after you enable the "Screen on/off control". Additionally, you can do so in your phone settings > applications > permissions.

Hi,

I could only find the permissions under the Locus Pro application: microphone, memory and location I have released all of them.

Is there anything more to forgive?

Locus also has admin rights

Do you have Locus Map installed in the inner memory or on the SD card? Beginning with Android 7+, this feature works only when the app is in the inner memory.

In principle it should be installed on the internal memory, only the maps are stored on the memory card

We've tested the feature on a S10 without problems. Only standard settings must be done:

- Locus Map needs system administrator permission

- Locus settings > Controlling > Display > Disable screen lock > All screen locks must be enabled

I have also done this setting.

Are there differences between navigation and destination guidance?

Navigation - router renders a route to the destination, you are navigated with voice prompts on the intersections, you see the shape of the next turn

Guidance on a point - just a beeline leading directly to the target

Guidance along a route (recorded, imported, planned) - similar to navigation but without shapes of turns, simpler voice prompts or beeps

Thanks for the explanation, I meant about display activation. I'm gonna retest both.

In relation to the display on/off:

navigation - display turns on just before the direction change, the same when guiding along a route is on

guidance to a point - display turns on when the notification comes out

Hello, I have made the last weekend again some tries with the settings, unfortunately without success.

What surprises me is that by tapping the display twice or the On Off button the display can be reactivated.

When the program itself tries to activate it, I always get a message like the one shown in the picture.

Have you some more ideas?

Hello,

I also have S10 and Iverified that Locus Map indeed can turn on screen if needed.

But important to note is, that turning screen on by gestures is not really usable with this model due to its non-standard proximity sensor which requires to cover and touch the screen by hand in order to activate.

On other hand automatic screen on navigation even works fine.

I see you already have administrative rights for your Locus. Please also make sure to have setting like on attached screens. If it will not work for you even after this, I am afraid something else is blocking that feature in your case.

Your last image shows standard Locus Map notification which is active during navigation and shows basic instructions. When you lit your screen, you will see it it in your notification area all the time during navigation.

I have now found the reason why the display activation did not work for me. If I deactivate the edge light it works. Maybe you can try it to solve that issue.

Thanks for your support
