[Backup manager] Google Drive auth callback error

Blabla Lux shared this problem 3 years ago
Not a Problem

When trying to set up the Backup Manager to use my Google Drive account, I'm redirected to the Google authentication page. After having successfully authenticated, the process does not come back to the Locus application, and an error screen is displayed (see attachment), resulting in the Cloud backup not properly set up.

I'm using Locus v. 3.49 on a OnePlus One device running LineageOS v. 17.1 (Android 10).

Hi Blabla,

launch Locus file browser (e.g. in the Import) and open the GDrive tab. If it opens without the need to log in, all is set properly. If not, try the login again. In case the same happens as you've described, just ignore the Google error screen and go to Locus manually.

Hello Michal,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I tried to use the Locus file browser (from the Import) and select Google Drive as the source. I was not logged in and unfortunately, when I tried to log in, I received the same error as before (although the authentication itself was succesful).

If I ignore the error and go back to Locus, I still can't backup to the cloud, as it requires me to log in to Google first.

Thanks.

Hi Blabla,

by the screenshot, we guess you use the Opera browser? Please try to use another one (Chrome, Firefox...), Opera often causes problems.

Hello Michal,

Thanks again for your quick reply.

And... it worked ! Curiously enough, the default browser on my device was set to the internal browser, so I don't know why Opera kicked in after the authentication. Switching the default browser to Firefox fixed the issue.

Thanks again.
